work they have done for the club. Bryan will continue to look after
membership.
Remember
the committee is here to represent you, so If you have any ideas, suggestions or feedback
please forward for our consideration.
Safety
duty
Carina has
organized a rota for dinghy session rescue cover.
This includes all club members. You will be assigned to at
most two sessions this year.
If you are not experienced in using powerboat, you will
be put with an experienced partner, so It's a great way to build up your
powerboating skills and have some fun on the water.
It's important that you find out which session you are
allocated to, and if you cannot make it, to arrange a
replacement.
Please confirm with the session
sailing organiser
that you will be attending, or advise them of any changes of
plan.
Membership
Club membership now
stands at 50. We are still 10 short of last years total
Spread the
word, and remember you can bring friends to sail as a guests for
e20 if they would like to try a session sailing.
Visitors can
reclaim this against membership fee if they subsequently
join.
For Ruffian sailing
no experience is required, dinghy sailors would need to have sailed
before.
There is now a
wetsuit available in the container for guests to borrow for a nominal
fee.
There are also
posters in the container if you have access to noticeboards at work
etc
Picnic
Sunday July 10'th
We are going
to have a SID sailing session (Ruffian and Dinghy) followed by a
spectacular picnic on Sunday July 10th. This coincides with the final day of the
Dun Laoghaire regatta, so there will be a great atmosphere around the place,
including live entertainment etc. check out <http://www.dlregatta.org/>
for more details.
The Picnic will take place on dry land after the sail,
(probably in the Peoples park, or somewhere along those lines). Non sailing
family, friends, kids, pets, etc. are all welcome. (ie any potential new
members!!!) You then have the rest of the afternoon to spend as you
will....
Paschal will look after the food, wine and the weather, so all
you have to do is;
1. Show up (sailing: at the
container:10.00 Picnic: Peoples
park:2.00)
2. Dress up (Preferably in your new SID T Shirt: Good
man Eamonn)
3. Pay up.....This will cost about 7-8 euro per
person.
(Feel free to donate EUR10 / EUR20, all surplus will go to the
Lifeboats).
So come along on the 10th and join in the
festivities!!
Please, please, please, please confirm numbers attending on or
before Thursday 7th July. Contact Paschal
